We've seen a lot of software products that were designed to perform extremely simple tasks, but this one takes the cake. TeraCopy is a program that copies files and folders. Not to some kind of server, nothing that fancy. It just copies stuff. From one place to another. On the same hard drive.

So, if you have always wanted a tool for doing exactly the same thing, you can do it now with minimum effort by downloading the approx. 3 Mb kit and installing it in a few seconds. If you're familiar with software such as JetStart or Direct Folders, TeraCopy is a member of the same family created by Code Sector, a software developer specialized in making your work require less clicks.

It may sound like an useless tool, but give it a chance. Moving or copying large amounts of data from one place to another can be risky business. A power failure or any unexpected hazard can mess up your data. Nothing seems easier than clicking and dragging a folder from one window to another and TeraCopy will even make you browse for a destination folder. But after copying or moving your data, the program can verify if everything has reached its destination intact. You can also set it to shutdown the computer or eject a drive when it's done. This makes it really useful when you let your PC copy something and leave it over night.

Pros

A program that just copies or moves data sounds useless, but TeraCopy can perform this action more safely. It's an ideal tool for massive transfers and it can also resume broken file transfers.

Cons

No drawbacks here. Such a simple tool doesn't have much to be wrong with. You can sleep easy if you leave your PC running over night in order to copy large amounts of data. TeraCopy does this, checks if everything gets there all right and finally shuts down.
